Call for Proposals: Panama TESOL Summer Institute 2026

Theme: “Innovating Learning Through Action: Tech-Enhanced Tasks that Include Everyone”

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

Panama TESOL is pleased to invite educators, trainers, researchers, and ELT professionals to submit proposals for the Panama TESOL Summer Institute 2026, to be held from January 26 to January 30, 2026. This year’s theme, “Innovating Learning Through Action: Tech-Enhanced Tasks that Include Everyone,” centers on leveraging the Action-Oriented Approach (AoA), inclusive pedagogies, and technology-enhanced tasks that empower learners of all backgrounds.

The 2026 Summer Institute will feature:

  • Virtual sessions via Zoom: January 26–29, 2026 (Monday to Thursday), 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
  • In-person day: January 30, 2026 (Friday) in Chiriquí — venue to be confirmed

We welcome proposals from professionals who can share innovative practices, classroom experiences, action-oriented tasks, research findings, or technology-based strategies connected to the Institute’s theme. Speaker participation is voluntary and unpaid; however, all presenters will receive a certificate of appreciation for their contribution.

    Session Type: You must indicate what type of session you wish to present (see Types of Presentation in Section 2 below). The proposals committee will look at your preference but may program your presentation differently if they feel it’s appropriate. Successful speakers will be informed of their session type in their acceptance letter emailed at the end of (include the date). (*)
    Audience Focus: You must indicate the audience focus (College/University, High school, middle school, elementary, PK) (*)

    Grounds for Disqualification A proposal will be disqualified if: • It is incomplete or fails to follow instructions. • It includes identifying information (names or institutions) in the title, abstract, or description. • It promotes commercial interests. • It is submitted to multiple strands with identical or similar content. • It contains plagiarized material.
